Dungeons and Dragons: Mythania Campaign: Session 6

 Session 6: Brutal Battle

Note: Shavae, Reginald, and Sylvain couldn't make it. Juan couldn't make it either, but the Dungeon Master controlled his PC in his absence.

The Slave Ring

    At the beginning of the session, Kyle received a message informing him that his sister had died of malaria. In his grief, a new power emerged. His Martial Archetype is Echo Knight. He is now able to manifest an echo or shadow of himself that has 1 hitpoint and is basically an extension of himself with which he can attack or switch places.

    Shavae and Reginald wanted to nap. Sylvain wanted to meditate some more. Therefore, Kyle, Bean, and Juan elected to go back to the Slaver Camp to wipe out the bandits therein (keeping in mind that they wanted to capture one to interrogate). The attempted to sneak up behind the bandit camp, but Kyle failed his stealth check. He just tried to hide by crouching a little bit. Four bandits charged at him. Kyle, Bean, and Juan all fired their ranged weapons at the bandits. Then, they engaged, wiping them out easily. 3 more bandits had reached them by that point which they also demolished.

    The bandit camp was set up so that there was a tent with two guards and a thug in front of the entrance. Also, two guards were guarding a cage with a black bear inside it. The 7 bandits who died in the last paragraph surrounded the cage and tent.

    Next, the party came around the side of the bandit camp. Kyle sent his echo to engage one of the guards in front of the tent. Ranged attacks were launched from both sides. One spear from a guard was a nat 20 on the attack roll and took Juan down to 0 hitpoints in one hit. Bean attacked and brutally wounded the guard next to the cage who had not thrown his spear. That guard ran away. The other opened the cage. The black bear immediately came out of the cage and tore the guard to pieces. Bean went over to help Kyle who had been fighting the guards and thug in front of the tent. They managed to kill one of the guards and the thug while the bear was mauling the guard. The bear came over and killed the other guard as a bandit captain came out of the tent and engaged the party. Kyle tried to offer the bear a mango, but that did nothing, so he ended up having to land a sword slash across its face. As Kyle and Bean were running low on hitpoints, they disengaged and moved away from the bandit captain and black bear who turned toward each other and began fighting. The bandit captain killed the bear. He then charged after Kyle and Bean. Kyle made another echo which he attacked the captain with. The captain defeated the echo and staggered forward (very low on hitpoints by this time). Kyle stepped forward and knocked out the captain with the butt of his sword.

    Kyle and Bean carried Juan and the bandit captain back to the city, victorious. After throwing the bandit captain in jail with Clancy the bandit, they took a much needed long rest to recover their wounds.

Disclaimer: Things in the battle may not have happened in that exact order, but that's two and a half hours of stuff that happened, so there's no way for me to remember everything exactly correctly.
