 Session 12: Strange Noises

Note: Bean and Juan are still on their own quests. Sylvain couldn't make it, so he was just meditating.

The Chaos Crystals

    Having completely dismantled the slave ring, the party went to see the Queen. They gave her a report of their progress and introduced Ronin to her. They also asked her about her intentions behind wanting the Chaos Crystals. She wanted to have some in order to fight the evils in power that have them.

The Demon's Maw

    Next, the party went to investigate strange noises that had been coming from an ancient ruined temple. Entering the temple, they were attacked by two giant spiders, which they easily dispatched. Going further down, they found a door. Kyle surveilled the room with his echo. Through the echo, Kyle saw four skeletons, 3 mind-controlled bandits, four cultists and a cult fanatic surrounding a stone block, plus a a necromancer on the stone block. The cultists were chanting rhythmically, performing some kind of ritual around the necromancer. The necromancer had a staff with a green metallic skull on the end.

    Kyle attempted to open the door which was locked. Larry bit the door handle out of the door. The party entered the small room. Ronin leapt forward immediately and belched out a blast of lightning breath. The lightning breath hit everyone in the room. Then, Ronin leapt amongst the bandits and skeletons, using his whirlwind ability. He killed all the bandits and skeletons. Then, the cultists rushed forward and attacked Ronin. The party easily killed the cultists. The fanatic and necromancer gave them more trouble though. Shavae tried and failed to take the necromancer's staff. Reginald tried and succeeded. When Reginald took the necromancer's staff, the necromancer withered and died. Finally, Kyle chopped off the fanatic's arm. While the fanatic bled out, the party interrogated him. Intimidated by Ronin, he said that his leader was "The Blood Fiend." After that, he died. The party took a long rest.
