 Session 7: Stealth, Stabs and Spells

Note: Sylvain and Bean couldn't make it, so they just stood by and guarded Fred and Donkey.

The Slave Ring

    At the beginning of the session, we find the party in the city jail talking to the captured bandit captain. Shavae failed to get any information out of him. Having failed, she clinked her rapier against the cell bars and left. Juan amused him, so he told the location of the second bandit camp (rather than the fortress which was being asked for.) Reginald intimidated him into telling them details about the camp and basically giving them a map of the camp.

    By the time the party reached the area where the camp was, it was night. They came from the west. Shavae cast the Minor Illusion spell creating what looked and sounded like children in need of help. Four bandits went to "help" the "kids." The party ambushed them and killed them swiftly. The party was quiet enough not to draw attention to themselves. Then, they approached from the north. Kyle tried to crawl far enough to manifest his echo, but he failed his stealth. Four bandits immediately charged and fired their crossbows (missing). Another four bandits headed in Kyle's direction, but they were further off. Coming out of their stealth, the party wiped out the first four bandits. Then, the other four reached them. Shavae cast a sleep spell that put two of them to sleep. The party killed the other two by fighting. Then, they finished off the sleeping bandits.

    The party decided to go over to the cage that held an ape. The two guards tried to fight the party, but were easily dispatched. Then, Juan enchanted his bow with Hail of Thorns. He launched two arrows over the fenced-in area holding the slaves and struck the thug guarding the gate in each shoulder. Before they hit the thug, a hail of thorns split from each of the arrows, raining down on the thug, two bandits, and two guards. Those enemies then came for the party. Juan opened the cage, Shavae tried and failed to get the ape on her side, but the ape hit her. Juan just barely managed to calm it and get it on his side. The guards engaged Reginald. The bandits and thug engaged Kyle. Kyle killed on bandit.
