 Session 11: Casualties

Note: Bean and Juan are still on their own "quests." Sylvain and Ronin were guarding the newly freed slaves.

The Slave Ring

    Kyle slashed the tent flap open, finding Ulysses McClellan inside. (The bandit lord). The two recognized each other, having known each other as kids. Mr. Shady was also in the tent. Plus, a strange human figure in a red robe that had an insignia on the back which looked like a flaming maw. The stranger wore a mask that had the same insignia on the mouth area, and demonic looking features everywhere else as well. McClellan seemed to be scared. He tried to get the party to just let him go, promising to never do anything else that was bad.

    The robed stranger slashed through one side of the tent. The bad guys tried to escape, but they were cut off by the party with Kyle behind them. Mr. Shady was running away, but Larry kept him at bay, the two of them facing off against each other while everyone else fought McClellan. (The robed stranger managed to run and get away.) During the battle, everyone except Larry ganged up on McClellan. He was a skilled fighter, despite his seeming cowardice from before. It was extremely difficult to hit him, and the only one who hit him with consistency was Monke. Enraged by this, McClellan attacked Monke with his full ferocity, dealing three major blows with his greatsword. Monke died because of this attack. The party, furious at the loss of their friend, completely destroyed McClellan. Reginald and Shavae continued to beat and slash the corpse after it was dead. McClellan was killed by Larry's Demonic Bleat. Larry and Mr. Shady had been missing each other and dealing damage to each other throughout the fight. After McClellan was dead, Kyle shot Mr. Shady with his crossbow. Then, Shavae used Vicious Mockery against him, saying "No beholder's eye would find you beautiful." Mr. Shady (having 1 hitpoint before being hit by this and failing his saving throw) looked shocked, then started crying. He knelt into the fetal position rocking back and forth until the force of his crying caused his head and chest to explode. 

    A funeral was held for Monke, and the group set out to return to the city. As they were on their way, a group of six orcs came charging from behind them, demanding the slaves they had intended to buy from the slavers. The party killed them, with help from Fred. Fred pulled a gigantic greatsword out of Donkey's packs. He missed his attempted multi-beheading strikes, but the last orc was cut in half vertically by Fred.

    The party returned to the city where they had brought the other freed slaves.
